I've been anxious my whole life. A people pleaser, perfectionist, and chronic worrier, I know what it feels like to lose myself in the things I have no control over, but feel exhausted and helpless with the things I can control. Anxiety takes your power away, and I'm here to help you get it back.
In this workshop I’ll share with you some of the science and theory about what anxiety is and how it affects your body, emotions, and thoughts. You’ll learn some simple, effective embodiment tools to help you recognize anxiety in the moment and shift your state right away. We’ll also explore how to channel anxious energy in a positive direction, one that empowers you instead of swallowing you whole.
Towards the end of our time together I’ll talk about an approach I’ve developed to help work with anxiety over a longer period of time, and how you can work with me on that over the course of 6 weeks, should you be inspired. This approach incorporates my studies, experiments, teaching and personal experience both on and off the yoga mat and is open to all people, regardless of your experience with yoga or embodiment work.
Anxiety can feel like such an intangible, ever present problem that is difficult to pin down and find relief from. I promise you will walk away from this workshop with concrete tools to use in your daily life to understand, embrace, and manage your anxiety and overwhelm, wherever it might arise.
