Yoga + Meditation Classes

These are for beginning to intermediate level yoga students who want to learn how to be in their bodies with more confidence, care, and awareness. I teach my students to take measured, playful steps towards having more self-agency, confidence, and generosity of mind and spirit. The structure of class also remains open and detailed enough to serve more advanced students and teachers looking to slow down, revisit some of the basics, and explore directing their energy and focus to where it is needed that day. Sometimes moving slowly and simply is actually the advanced practice. :)

My style of teaching is methodical, consistent, and playful. I sequence in a way where movements are built up to and there is always a way to adjust the scale of what you are doing, as well as the intensity. I incorporate simple but effective movements that aim to increase your strength, mobility, proprioception, and balance throughout the practice, and I am particularly inspired by how to direct your energy depending on your individual needs- i.e. am I wanting to feel more contained, more grounded, or more spacious, lighter?

I teach this way so that you can explore your own freedom and impulse within the structure of the class- where you want to pause, where you'd like to move with more flow, what variation suits you best today, when you need to rest. Each class begins with a movement practice and ends with breath work and a short meditation.

I teach mainly with verbal cues, so that I can be present to what I see and adjust my language accordingly. I teach roughly the same sequence for the entire month, so that you can worry less about looking at the screen for what's next and spend more time being inside your body. I also believe the more comfortable you are with a sequence and the postures within it, the more agency and self-confidence you have access to, which is a very good thing! The monthly sequence is always available on my website or on YouTube for you to look at and practice in your own time.
