Front Lying Posture

Step 1: Lay down a mat or blanket.

Step 2: Grab a small, firm cushion and a rolled up towel or long cushion

Step 3: Lie down on your front- ankles supported by the rolled up towel, firm cushion places under your belly, somewhere between your ribs and pelvis (play around until you find a comfortable but slightly stimulating place for the cushion), and rest your forehead on your hands.

Step 4: Take slow, long breaths into the back of your ribcage.

Benefits: Forward facing postures help to stimulate the Vagus nerve, which activates the rest and digest part of your nervous system. Having light pressure in the abdomen, for many people, is helpful in releasing worry (literally undoing the “knots” in our stomach).
